29 CFR 1917.45(d)(2): The employer used a crane or derrick having a visible or known defect affecting safe operation: Port of Rota, Yard - On or about 6/26/12, and at times prior thereto, a Grove 8-ton telescopic crane used for long shoring operations had a defective front, right tire; there were deep gashes in the tread exposing the thread layer. It is possible for the tire to burst while under load.
