29 CFR 1926.405(g)(2)(v): Cords passing through holes. Flexible cords and cables shall be protected by bushings or fittings where passing through holes in covers, outlet boxes, or similar enclosures. a. On the 7th floor, there was a power cable for the temporary lighting running through a hole on the front of an electrical cabinet with no bushings or fittings, thereby exposing employees to a contact hazard.

29 CFR 1926.416(a)(1): No employer shall permit an employee to work in such proximity to any part of an electric power circuit that the employee could contact the electric power circuit in the course of work, unless the employee is protected against electric shock by deenergizing the circuit and grounding it or by guarding it effectively by insulation or other means. a. On the south side of the 11th floor corridor, there was an exposed energized wire in the temporary lighting system 5 foot 3 inches from the ground, thereby exposing employees to a contact hazard.
