29 CFR 1910.213(i)(1): Non-working portion(s) of the blade of bandsaw(s) were not enclosed or guarded: On or about July 5, 2012, and at times prior thereto, a band saw used in the router room was operated without a blade guard over the non-working section of the saw, exposing employees to the hazard of being struck by the rotating blade. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that the band saw is taken out of service or has a guard installed.

29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning purposes was not reduced to less than 30 p.s.i.: On or about July 7, 2012, and at times prior thereto, employees in facility used compressed air in excess of 30 psi for cleaning purposes. The high pressure jet of the compressed air can project debris with dangerous force and the high pressures can damage skin, eyes and other body organs. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure air nozzles used for cleaning are at 30 psig or below.

29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i): Except as elsewhere required or permitted by Subpart S of Part 1910, live parts of electric equipment operating at 50 volts or more were not guarded against accidental contact by use of approved cabinets or other forms of approved enclosures or by any of the means identified in paragraphs (A), (B), (C), and (D) of 29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i): On or about July 5, 2012, live wiring was exposed in the conduit and electrical boxes in three separate locations that supply power to the JET table saw in the routing room, where the flexible cable of the table saw enters the electrical box and two areas of the rigid conduit along the wall, exposing employees to electrical shock, burn, and fire hazards. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that the rigid conduit does not have gaps when housing live wire.
