29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section. On August 9, 2012, an employee was not provided cave-in protection while working in an 8 foot deep trench, exposing the employee to the hazards associated with a cave-in. MVP Plumbing Corp. was previously cited for a similar violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1) which was contained in inspection number 312597156, citation number 2, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on September 22, 2009, with respect to a work place located at 1504 S. 50th Ave. Cicero, IL. 60804. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
