29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1): A written respiratory protection program that included the provisions in 29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1)(i) - (ix) with worksite specific procedures was not established and implemented for required respirator use: (Construction Reference 1926.103) a.) C. W. Beal, Inc., 809 French Street, Erie, PA - On or about, August 20, 2012, painters were required to wear 3M brand, tight-fitting, air-purifying respirators during painting/coating operations. The employer's written respiratory protection program did not include worksite specific procedures. In that, the employer's written respiratory protection program did not include information including, but not limited to, the following: 1.) Procedures for selecting respirators; 2.) Procedures for proper use of respirators in routine and reasonably foreseeable emergency situations; 3.) Procedures and schedules for cleaning, disinfecting, storing, inspecting, repairing, discarding, and otherwise maintaining respirators; 4.) Training of employees in the respiratory hazards to which they are potentially exposed during routine and emergency situations; 5.) Training of employees in the proper use of respirators, including putting on and removing them, any limitations on their use, and their maintenance; and 6.) Procedures for regularly evaluating the effectiveness of the program.
