The employer did not develop a written hazard communication program to ensure having material safety data sheets for membrane cleaner, gasoline, and adhesives when employees were engaged in roofing operations. NOTE: Certification of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

The employer did not have a material safety data sheet for each hazardous chemical such as gasoline, membraner cleaner, and adhesives used and/or handled by employees when replacing roof insulating materials. NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.
