29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system. Employees engaged in roofing activity on an 8 in 12 pitch roof were exposed to falls hazards of approximately 20 feet from the eave to the ground below at the front of the house, and approximately 12 feet from the eave to the ground below at the back of the house. The employees were exposed in that a fall protection system was not in place.
