29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch: Boiler Plantl: The tongue guard on a Black and Decker grinder was not installed with a maximum opening of one-fourth inch. Golf Course: The tongue guard on a Porter cable grinder was not installed with a maximum opening of one-fourth inch. Notice to Citation 001, Item 001, 1910.215(b)(9) as required by 29 CFR 1960.8(b): The employer failed to assess the workplace hazards. The employer was cited for a violation of the same standard on 05/18/2012, Inspection # 311096218, 06/07/2012 of final order/settlement, and was abated by adjusting the tongue guard to one fourth inch.
