29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): "Steep roofs." Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) EDA Contractors, Urban Outfitters, Building 14 PNSY- Employees worked on a steep slopped roof and were not protected with effective fall protection at all times. On September 14, 2012 an employee disconnected the rope he was attached to and was exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 26 feet. NOTE: Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
