29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): The employer does not ensure that employees are protected from falling while performing residential construction activities on working surfaces at heights greater than six feet. This violation was observed on or about October 17, 2012, at the construction site where an employee was exposed to a fall hazard of greater than 6 feet while installing siding trim on a house being constructed without any means of fall protection. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that all employees performing residential construction activities at heights greater than six feet are protected from falling.
