29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmets. On or about November 01, 2012, two employees were installing sheet metal siding to the front of the building under construction above another employee working from a Snorkel scissor lift below without head protection, exposing the employee to the hazard of being struck by falling tools or materials. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that each employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, will be protected by protective helmets.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. On or about November 01, 2012, an employee was working on the edge of the roof of the building up to approximately 20 feet high while cutting the sheet metal siding without fall protection, exposing employee to a fall hazard. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level will be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.
