29 CFR 1910.178(p)(1): Where powered industrial trucks were found to be in need of repair, defective, or in any way unsafe, the trucks were not taken out of service until they had been restored to safe operating condition: 4500 Goodfellow Blvd.: A Toyota forklift with faulty exhaust which created carbon monoxide levels at approximately 35 parts per million when measured from a distance of approximately 15 feet from the rear side of the forklift was not removed from service to prevent OPERATORoverexposure to carbon monoxide by an operator. An operator was taken to an emergency room in a hospital after the operator was overcomed by carbon monoxide exposure.
