29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): The employer did not administer a continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.95(c) through (o) whenever employee noise exposures equal or exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 decibels measured on the A scale, or equivalently a dose of fifty percent: (a) On or about 12/18/12 - The Off Bearer (head saw) position was exposed to continuous noise at 239% of the allowable 8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 dBA or an equivalent level of 96.3 dBA. The sampling was performed for 386 minutes during one shift. Zero exposure was assumed for 94 minutes of unsampled time. (b) On or about 12/18/12 - The Trim Saw position was exposed to continuous noise at 119.5% of the allowable 8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 dBA or an equivalent level of 91.3 dBA. The sampling was performed for 464 minutes during one shift. Zero exposure was assumed for 57 minutes of unsampled time. (c) On or about 12/18/12 - The Edger operator was exposed to continuous noise at 200.0% of the allowable 8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 dBA or an equivalent level of 95.0 dBA. The sampling was performed for 374 minutes during one shift. Zero exposure was assumed for 93 minutes of unsampled time.
