To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that employees are not exposed to these struck by and caught between hazards by adequately bracing during installtaion.

(B) A supervisor was exposed to a fall of approximately 9 feet after removing a guardrail around a stair opening where fall protection was not utilized. (C) An employee was exposed to a fall of approximately 9 feet while installing a guardrail around a stair opening where fall protection was not utilized. (D) Employees framing an exterior wall at the North West corner of the building were exposed to a fall of approximately 30 feet where fall protection was not used while working along the unprotected floor edge. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that appropriate fall protection is in place to protect employees on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge 6 feet or more above a lower level.
