29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): The employer does not ensure that each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level is protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:  This violation was most recently observed on 3/15/2013 at a jobsite located at 1 Jacobs Way, Reading, MA 01867 when securing deck sheathing along an unprotected floor edge, the employees were exposed to a fall of 20 feet where fall protection was not utilized. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that a fall protection system is in place to protect employees 6 feet of more above a lower level from falling. 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(2)(i): The employer does not ensure that each employee who is constructing a leading edge 6 feet or more above lower levels is protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:    This violation was most recently observed on 3/15/2013 at a jobsite located at 1 Jacobs Way, Reading, MA 01867 when employees creating a leading edge while installing floor sheathing were exposed to a 10 foot fall hazard where fall protection was not utilized. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that a fall protection system is in place to protect employees while working 6 feet of more above a lower level from falling.
