29 CFR 1910.157(g)(1): An educational program was not provided for all employees to familiarize them with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage fire fighting: a) 5801 West Side Ave., North Bergen, NJ There are approximately 24 Fire Extinguishers in the facility. However, the employees were not instructed in whether or not they should try to use Fire Extinguishers. Violation occurred on 11-9-12 Abatement Note: The employer must either correct the alleged violation or implement a fire safety policy which requires the immediate and total evacuation of employees from the workplace upon the sounding of a fire alarm signal and which includes an emergency action plan and a fire prevention plan meeting the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.38 and 29 CRR 1910.39, respectively.
