29 CFR 1910.36(g)(4): Objects that projected into the exit route reduced the width of the exit route to less than the 28 inches minimum width requirement for exit routes: a) right back room - shoe boxes protruded into the doorway leading from the rear to the front of the back room where the rear emergency exit door was located, reducing the width to 20 inches, observed on or about 12/14/12. b) right back room - boxes on the floor restricted the route to the rear emergency exit door by reducing the width to 24.5 inches, observed on or about 12/14/12. c) right back room - a 10-ft step ladder was placed across from the rear emergency exit door, reducing the width of the exit route to 27 inches, observed on or about 12/14/12.
