OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the sudden and uncontrolled release of hazardous energy:  On or about December 7, 2012 on Rig #5 at the well site Dusek 44-8 on the Parsley Energy Lease, employees were exposed to being struck by the uncotrolled release of hazardous energy when a nipple was cross threaded on a flange resulting in the loss of well control. OSHA does not have a standard that applies to the hazard.
