29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) 1100 Maxwell Lane, 6th floor facing east, Hoboken, NJ. Employees were observed working at the edge of the 6th floor without any means of fall protection, thereby were exposed to an approximately 40 feet fall hazard. Violation observed on or about 01/11/2013. b) 1100 Maxwell Lane, 3rd floor facing north, Hoboken, NJ. Employees were observed working at the edge of the 3rd floor without any means of fall protection, thereby were exposed to an approximately 30 feet fall hazard. Violation observed on or about 02/21/2013.

29 CFR 1926.701(b): All protruding reinforcing steel, onto and/or into which employees could fall or come against, was not guarded to eliminate the hazard of impalement: a) 1100 Maxwell Lane, Eastbound, Hoboken, NJ. Numerous pieces of vertical re-bar at the ground level was not guarded. Employees were walking/working in the area were exposed to the hazard of being impaled. Violation observed on or about 01/11/2013.
