29 CFR 1910.303(b)(1)(vii): Electric equipment shall be free from recognized hazards that are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. Safety of equipment shall be determined using the following considerations: classification by type, size, voltage, current capacity, and specific use; and other factors that contribute to the practical safeguarding of persons using or likely to come in contact with the equipment. (a) On or about December 26, 2012, an employee activated on/off electrical controls in the South Pit #1 control room. The controls were located within an electrical switch gear cabinet adjacent to energized conductors. The electrical controls were used for the top fans located in bins #19 and #20. Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c)
