29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: A. On or about January 31, 2013, the employer failed to ensure that employees operating CNC machinery such as, but not limited to; Hwacheon model number HI-ECO 21HS, AmaraSeiki model number T415, and Nakamura model number TMC4 were protected from the point of operations by a means of guarding. Employees can open the door and access the spindle while the equipment is still operating at full speed. B. On or about January 31, 2012, the employer failed to ensure employees operating CNC machinery such as, but not limited to; Hwacheon model number HI-ECO 21HS and Nakamura model number TMC4 were protected from rotating parts from the motor. The access doors were removed to allow longer parts to be used.
