29 CFR 1915.36(a)(3): Scrapings and rags soaked with liquid solvents, paint or preservative removers, paints or vehicles capable of producing a flammable atmosphere under the conditions of use were not kept in a covered metal container: a) Aboard USCG Stratton, Main Deck, Bow - Noted on 1/24/13, and at times prior thereto, cleaning rags soaked with flammable denatured alcohol (Class 1A, FP. 55 degrees F) were placed into an open plastic bucket for cleaning purposes. An approved metal container with a lid is required.

29 CFR 1910.134(h)(1)(i): Respirators issued for the exclusive use of an employee shall be cleaned and disinfected as often as necessary to be maintained in a sanitary condition: a) Aboard USCG Stratton, Main Deck, Bow - Noted on 1/24/13, and at times prior thereto, a 3M tight fitting, negative pressure respirator, in use, was observed to be dirty inside the mask.
