29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1): Protective eye and face equipment was not required where there was a reasonable probability of injury that could be prevented by such equipment. Eye and face protection was not required and used for employees exposed to corrosive chemicals including, but not limited to 116 Oven & Grill Cleaner, FS Lime Clean, and Foam Safe, Chlorinated Alkaline Liquid Foam Cleaner. An employee suffered face and eye burns, while cleaning a fryer, from a corrosive chemical and was not wearing any eye or face protection.
