29 CFR 1910.334(a)(2)(i):  Portable cord and plug connected equipment and flexible cord sets (extension cords) were not visually inspected before use on any shift for external defects (such as loose parts, deformed and missing pins, or damage to outer jacket or insulation) and for evidence of possible internal damage (such as pinched or crushed outer jacket):    a. a. On or about 02/08/2013, Virgin Islands Asphalt Products Corporation  Maintenance shop area,  #13h Estate Bethlehem, St Croix, VI:  Employees were using electrical power tools such as a cut-off saw connected to an extension cord.  The electrical extension cord had its outer jacket broken.     Note:  Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.
