29 CFR 1910.95(d)(1): When information indicated that any employee's exposure equaled or exceed the 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 decibels, the employer did not develop and implement a monitoring program: a. Noise sound level meter measurements were 99 to 103 dBA at the Green Machine, and 99 to 102 dBA at the band saw. Noise monitoring had not been conducted by the employer to determine the need for a hearing conservation program, including initial and annual hearing tests and annual training. (Note: noise monitoring would not be required for abatement if a hearing conservation program was instituted.) Abatement documentation is required for this violation.
