29 CFR 1926.850(c): All electric, gas, water, steam, sewer, and other service lines were not shut off, capped, and/or otherwise controlled, outside the building line before demolition work was started. (a) 1920-1928 W. State Street, Boise, Idaho: On or about February 12, 2013, and at time prior thereto, the employer did not ensure that utilities were shut off to protect employees from highly toxic components of sewer gas. Sewer gas can also contain methane, carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides while performing demolition activities. Note: Abatement certification IS required for this item.
