29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): The employer shall provide portable fire extinguishers and shall mount, locate and identify them so that they are readily accessible to employees without subjecting the employees to possible injury. A) In the plant, on or about February 27, 2013, and at times prior to, fire extinguishers were blocked with boxes and other materials at the back aisle area, exposing employees to fire hazards in case of an emergency situation. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED.

29 CFR 1910.252(b)(2)(iii): Protection from arc welding rays. Where the work permits, the welder should be enclosed in an individual booth painted with a finish of low reflectivity such as zinc oxide (an important factor for absorbing ultraviolet radiations) and lamp black, or shall be enclosed with noncombustible screens similarly painted. Booths and screens shall permit circulation of air at floor level. Workers or other persons adjacent to the welding areas shall be protected from the rays by noncombustible or flameproof screens or shields or shall be required to wear appropriate goggles. A) In the plant, on or about February 27, 2013, and at times prior to, an employee was observed welding without flash curtains or screens in the balancing station, exposing employees 4-6ft away to flash burn. Employees pickup parts from the rack in the balancing station area. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION ARE REQUIRED.
