29 CFR 1926.351(b)(4): Cables in need of repair shall not be used. When a cable, other than the cable lead referred to in paragraph (b)(2) of this section, becomes worn to the extent of exposing bare conductors, the portion thus exposed shall be protected by means of rubber and friction tape or other equivalent insulation. North Jobsite - On or about February 27, 2013 employees used a Lincoln Electric Classic 300D diesel welder with exposed connectors less than 10 feet from the electrode holder. The exposed connector was 45 inches from the electrode holder. S & L STEEL ERECTORS INC. WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD 1926.351(b)(4) WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 732841 CITATION NUMBER 01, ITEM NUMBER 001, ISSUED ON 12/10/2012 WITH A FINAL ORDER DATE OF 01/08/2013, WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 1100 COLLEGE STREET, COLUMBUS, MS 39702.
