OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards:    a) Barge (Pier Street) - On or about 3/8/13, employees were exposed to crushing hazards when riding downhill on forks that were attached to a Bobcat loader.    Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to require employees not to ride forks while operating equipment as referenced in ASME B56.1-2000, Section 5.2.8:  Do not permit passengers to ride on powered industrial trucks unless a safe place to ride has been provided by the manufacturer.    In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement documentation and certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
