29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11):  Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:      The employer does not ensure that each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels is protected from falling.  This violation occurred on or about March 14, 2013, on the south side of the jobsite where employees were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 10 feet, 6 inches when removing shingles and debris from the roof of a building without using a fall protection system.      The F.W. Walton, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 315722892, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on December 23, 2011, with respect to a workplace located at 2641 East Highway 6, Alvin, Texas 77511.       Pursuant to 29 C.F. R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels is protected from falling.
