One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices,electronic safety devices, etc. Job site located at 2701 West Omaha Ave, Norfolk, NE 68701-The employer allowed employees to operate a Milwaukee Milling Machine without having the machine guarded to minimize or eliminate hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks.

Compressed air shall not be used for cleaning purposes except where reduced to less than 30 p.s.i. and then only with effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment. Job site located at 2701 West Omaha Ave, Norfolk, NE 68701-Employees were allowed to use an air nozzle in the maintenance area to clean of material they were working on where the air pressure was above the 30 psi allowed and the nozzle did not have a chip guard.

29 CFR 1910.22(d)(1): In every building or other structure, or part thereof, used for mercantile, business, industrial, or storage purposes, the loads approved by the building official shall be marked on plates of approved design which shall be supplied and securely affixed by the owner of the building, or his duly authorized agent, in a conspicuous place in each space to which they relate. Such plates shall not be removed or defaced but, if lost, removed, or defaced, shall be replaced by the owner or his agent.
