29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about March 26, 2013 the employer failed to follow machine guarding requirements for machines: a) Chicago Dreis & Krump Press Brake, #1 the point of operation was not guarded. The opening between the dies was approximately ½ inch. b) Di Acro Press Brake, the Point of operation was not guarded. The opening between the dies was approximately ½ inch. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d). Moffat Wire & Display, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 712638, citation number 01, item number 001 and was affirmed as a final order on February 05, 2013, with respect to a workplace located at 324 S. La Londa Avenue, Addison IL 60101.
