29 CFR 1904.40(a): Basic requirement. When an authorized government representative asks for the records you keep under Part 1904, you must provide copies of the records within four (4) business hours. a. At the time of inspection on April 4, 2013, the 2010 OSHA 300 Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses and the OSHA 300A Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses were requested during the opening conference at approximately noon. The information was provided by the employer over four hours later by electronic mail, exceeding the time limit specified in the standard. b. At the time of inspection on April 4, 2013, the 2011 OSHA 300 Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses and the OSHA 300A Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses were requested during the opening conference at approximately noon. At the end of each calendar year, the employer must: 29 CFR 1904.32(a)(1): Review the OSHA 300 Log to verify that the entries are complete and accurate, and correct any deficiencies identified; a. At the end of 2012, the employer created an OSHA 300A Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses from the 2012 OSHA 300 Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses. The total number of other recordable cases on the summary was recorded as "1" but the 2012 OSHA 300 Log had two cases recorded in Column (J), Other Recordable cases. The employer had not reviewed the 2012 300A Summary for accuracy and corrected any deficiencies that were found.
