OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of fire and/or explosions: On or about April 4, 2013, a fire occurred at the Northwest Booster (Compressor Station) when Field Operators were depressuring the natural gas pipeline between the Goodnight Booster and Northwest Booster. Field operators were venting gas to atmosphere via the blowdown vent stacks on the pipeline pig runs at each station when the gas venting from the blowdown vent at the Northwest Booster ignited. Field operators stand in near proximity to the blowdown vent during depressuring operations, exposing them to the hazard of fire/explosion
