29 CFR 1910.151(c):   Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use:    a.   On or about April 10, 2013, at the maintenance/mechanics area, Villa Marina, Fajardo, Puerto Rico.   Employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials such as diesel and gasoline, and other fluids and oils used and/or handled. Suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not available within the work area for immediate emergency use.     NOTE:  Certification of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

On or about April 10, 2013, at Villa Marina facilities, San Juan, PR.  The employer did not develop a written hazard communication program to ensure having material safety data sheets for gasoline, diesel, oils, fluids and other chemicals during regular marinas related operations.     NOTE:  Certification of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1):  Employers shall provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new physical or health hazard the employees have not previously been trained about is introduced into their work area. Information and training may be designed to cover categories of hazards (e.g., flammability, carcinogenicity) or specific chemicals. Chemical-specific information must always be available through labels and material safety data sheets.   a.  On or about April 10, 2013, at Villa Marina facilities, San Juan, PR.  The employer did provide information and training to employees while utilizing hazardous chemicals such as gasoline, diesel, oil, hydraulic fluid and other chemicals for employees engaged in marinas maintenance operations.
