WORKSHOP:  The employee, as authorized was not provided with the site specific hazardous energy control training and information in the controlling of potentially hazardous and unexpected releases of energy sources (lo/to) during servicing and maintenance of equipment, such as (but not limited not limited to) the CNC lathe, hydraulic and mechanical power presses.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices,electronic safety devices, etc.    WORKSHOP:  The  rotating chucks of the following lathes and OD grinders were unguarded.    1.  Clausing lathe   2.  Landis OD grinder.  3.  Landis OD grinder  4.  MSG unguarded lathe.    ALL ABATED DURING THE INSPECTION.
