29 CFR 1926.501 (b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system. a) 1906 Bay Ave., Long Beach Island: Two workers were observed installing siding on the chimney of a three story residence with no form of fall protection, and were exposed to a fall hazard greater than 25 feet to the ground below. Observed on or about 4/11/2013. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee who was exposed to fall hazards that enabled each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. a) 1906 Bay Ave., Long Beach Island: Two workers were observed installing siding on the chimney of a three story residence with no form of fall protection, and were exposed to a fall hazard greater than 25 feet to the ground below. The employer did not provide training to employees exposed to fall hazards in the recognition and procedures to minimize those hazards. Observed on or about 4/11/2013.
