Employees used these stairs to access the top of the burn table and were exposed to fall hazards.

29 CFR 1910.243(c)(3): Abrasive wheels used on vertical portable grinder(s) (right angle head grinders) were not provided with safety guard(s) having a maximum exposure angle of 180 degrees and located between the operator and wheel: (a) In the production area at the Whitney 661 and Messer burn tables, the employer did not ensure that proper guarding was provided for abrasive wheels on the Ingersoll-Rand portable grinding equipment. Standard guarding on these grinders were for Type 27 and 28 abrasive wheels. Employees were using Type 11 wheels which were not adequately guarded.
