On or about 04/18/2013, Bates Trucking and Trash Removal , Inc., 61 & 61a Castle Coakley, Christiansted, VI - Mechanic Service area: An employee was exposed to a struck by hazards while working installing a truck tire using a tire bead seater (compress air tank) which its pressure gauge regulator was damage. Note: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer within 24 hours of the inspection.

On or about 04/18/2013, Bates Trucking and Trash Removal , Inc., 61 & 61a Castle Coakley, Christiansted, VI - Yard area: Power industrial trucks were used on a daily basis to transport warehouse materials during loading/unloading operations. The employer did not certify that each operator had been trained and evaluated. Note: Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c) and (d), respectively.
