29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems.     The employer does not protect employees from falling when engaged in steel erection activities while on working surfaces more than 15 feet above a lower level..  This violation occurred on or about April 29, 2013, at the job site where an employee was exposed to a 26 foot fall when welding steel decking without being protected from a fall.        Sonny Steel Erectors, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent 29 C.F.R. 1926.760(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 315783878, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on November 23, 2011, with respect to a workplace located at 9711 N. Sam Houston Pkwy., Humble, TX 77396.        Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that employees are protected from falls when engaged in steel erection activities.
