Erie Ave., Lorain, Ohio, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from falls while engaged in roofing activities on a steep sloped residential type structure. Employees were exposed to a potential fall of approximately 20 feet to the ground below.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee who was exposed to fall hazards that enabled each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: a) R & R Roofing, LLC, Lorain, Ohio: On or about April 30, 2013, at a worksite located at 1850 E. Erie Ave., Lorain, Ohio, the employer did not ensure that employees had been trained in the recognition and control of fall hazards. Employees exposed to falls of approximately 20 feet were not trained to use fall protection systems, which could result in permanent disability or death.
