The cord was plugged into an electrical outlet (non-GFCI outlet) on the outside wall from the maintenance shop, partially buried into the ground, where trucks travel and parked in the immediate area where the cord was buried, and ran up the outside wall of the smoking shed, through an opening to power the portable fan.  The workers were exposed to an electrical shock, burn or electrocution hazard.
