29 CFR 1910.213(i)(1): Non-working portion(s) of the blade of bandsaw(s) were not enclosed or guarded: a) Dismantle Saw Area: On or about May 1, 2013 the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards in that the cover to the drive wheel on the dismantle saw was allowed to be left open while the saw was in operation. b) Dismantle Saw Area: On or about May 1, 2013 the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards in that the cover to the drive wheel did not fully enclose the periphery of the wheel of the blue and yellow dismantle saw and the unused portion of the blade before the guide rollers. The Kopac International Corp now Southeast Forest Products, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.213(i)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314174244, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on September 7, 2010 with respect to a workplace located at 4596 Washington Ferry Road, Montgomery AL 36108.
