The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1): An inspection of the excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems was not conducted by the competent person prior to the start of work and as needed throughout the shift:     (a) Unique Pretzel Bakery - The competent person did not conduct an inspection of the excavation and adjacent areas at the start of work. Employees were permitted to work in a trench that was 120 feet long, 4 feet deep at the west end and 28 inches deep at the east end.  The spoil pile from the trench was not placed at least two feet back from the edge of the trench and employees were exposed to the potential of loose material falling or rolling into the trench, on or about May 14, 2013.        Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date.  The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
