29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) Mechanical Room - An employee installing gas pipe in the mechanical room was exposed to fall hazards of approximately sixteen (16) feet from the top of the ship's ladder and was not protected from falling into the ladderway, on or about October 24th, 2018. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
