29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501(b):     a. Wedgewood Glen Subdivision, Hurricane:  Employees engaged in residential construction activities working at heights up to 14' 9" were not protected from falls through the use of guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employees provided with an alternative fall protection measure, as observed on 6/03/13.     b.  Wedgewood Glen Subdivision, Hurricane:  Employees were exposed to fall hazards of 10' working in and around an unguarded stairwell, open loft area, while performing framing on the second floor of a two-story home.  Employees were not protected from falls through the use of guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employees provided with an alternative fall protection measure, as observed on 6/03/13.     c.  Wedgewood Glen Subdivision, Hurricane:  Employees were exposed to fall hazards of 6'2" while accessing the second floor of a home under construction, climbing stairs that were unguarded to the first landing.  Employees were not protected from falls through the use of guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employees provided with an alternative fall protection measure, as observed on 6/03/13. 29 CFR 1926.1416(d)(3)(i): Telescopic boom cranes manufactured after February 28, 1992, were not equipped with a device which automatically prevents damage from contact between the load block, overhaul ball, or similar component, and the boom tip (or fixed upper block or similar component).     a. Wedgewood Glen Subdivision, Hurricane:  A Simon-Ro TC-384 telescopic boom crane serial # 4760395047, manufactured after 1992, was being used onsite to lift ground built framed walls to employees working on the second floor of the home.  The anti-two block device was not operational and the cable was not marked indicating a stopping point for the operator, as determined on 6/03/13.     Abatement Certification Required For This Item.
