OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were ecxposed to crushing/pinching hazards to hands while working on refuse collecting/compacting trailer. WORKPLACE: The crushing and/or pinch points, created by the hydraulic cylinder ram and the cylinder support frame on the rear of the Steco refuse transfer trailer, Model Number V74662 and Company Number STR-2, were not guarded by appropriate guards and/or devices. On or about June 3, 2013, while employees were performing maintenance, repair and/or adjustments on the hydraulic ram of the above trailer, the hydraulic ram suddenly moved toward the cylinder support frame and crushed/pinched a finger of one of employees hand.
