29 CFR 1910.212(a)(2): Guard(s) on machine(s) were not affixed to the machine or secured elsewhere when attachment to the machine was not possible: The company did not have guarding secured in a manner to prevent employee exposure to hazardous motion on Coating Line equipment including, but not limited to: a) On or about June 5, 2013, yellow mesh guards utilized on Coater Line 10 were not secured to the equipment. b) On or about June 5, 2013, plexiglass shields were not affixed to equipment. The shields were kept in place by studs/pins sticking out of the machine on Coater 10. c) On or about June 5, 2013, a yellow metal guard was not affixed to the machine to prevent exposure to rotating parts next to the sleeves on Coater 10. d) On or about June 12, 2013, the yellow mesh guards attached with hinges on the top were not secured to prevent exposure to rotating parts on Coater No. 2. Abatement Certification and Abatement Documentation Required.
