29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Repair Shop: On or about July 2, 2013 and at times prior, employees were exposed to amputation and/or caught by hazards due to an unguarded chuck on a Jet drill press. (b) Repair Shop: On or about July 2, 2013 and at times prior, employees were exposed to struck by hazards while operating an unguarded Torin model Big Red 20 ton hydraulic press. (c) Repair Shop: On or about July 2, 2013 and at times prior, employee were exposed to struck by hazards while operating an unguarded Carolina Tool and Equipment 50 ton hydraulic press.
