29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. (a) Barton Leasing, Inc. 14800 E. Moncrieff Place, Aurora, CO 80011; On and before July 10, 2013, the exposing employer failed to provide machine guarding on two Arnold 26" rebar table bending machines. Condition exposed employees using the machines to laceration and amputation hazards at the point where the steel rebar is introduced into the machine by hand and the bars are bent. (b) Barton Leasing, Inc. 14800 E. Moncrieff Place, Aurora, CO 80011; On and before July 10, 2013, the exposing employer failed to adequately guard the point of operation of two Peddinghaus Corp. band saws used to cut structural steel. Condition exposed employees using the saw to laceration and amputation hazards from the exposed blade. (c) Barton Leasing, Inc. 14800 E. Moncrieff Place, Aurora, CO 80011: On and before July 10, 2013, the exposing employer failed to adequately guard the point of operation of a shear press, located in the center of the machine shop and used to cut rebar. Although the shear press had a guard, the area of the guard closest to the point of operation had a gap of approximately 5 inches through which one could come into contact with the machines point of operation. Condition exposed employees to laceration and amputation hazards as they use the shear. (d) Barton Leasing, Inc. 14800 E. Moncrieff Place, Aurora, CO 80011; On and before July 10, 2013, the exposing employer failed to adequately guard the point of operation of some Schnell Barweiser Multifeed and Schnell Prima 12 standup rebar bending machines, specifically the shear portion of the machines. Condition exposed employees to laceration and amputation hazards as they used the machine to cut and shape rebar. (e) Barton Leasing, Inc. 14800 E. Moncrieff Place, Aurora, CO 80011; On and before July 10, 2013, the exposing employer failed to adequately guard the rear portion of the shear on a multi function HMI 110-31 Metal Muncher Machine. Condition exposed employees using the machine to laceration and amputation hazards in the rear of the machine. (f) Barton Leasing, Inc. 14800 E. Moncrieff Place, Aurora, CO 80011; On and before July 10, 2013, the exposing employer failed to adequately guard the point of operation of a Mercury Pneumatic Press brake. Condition exposed employees using the press brake to laceration and amputation hazards as they use the press brake.
